Action / Experience / Contact

April 2023 – March 2024
ANKARA

Action / Experience / Contact is a project that aims to explore multiplicity rather than unity, freedom of sharing and other possibilities of artistic dialogues. It is a search for an answer to how to get from unity to multiplicity. The project focuses on how it is possible to produce and share artistic production and the social problems of the accessibility of individuals to material, space or intellectual partnerships during the production processes.

The participants will be able to experience the process of photography as a whole, from training in a darkroom and alternative printing techniques to the exhibition stage through this project, which basically aims to provide a space for production, especially the use of darkroom.  In addition, the participants will have access to the dark room facilities available throughout the project. The project consists of workshops and the final exhibition, with four different groups to be determined by the jury, a total of sixteen people.

Workshops will cover basic knowledge and applications of darkroom and alternative printing techniques. Talks open to everyone will be held in parallel to training sessions, and they will open up the space for discussion of the basic problems of being an artist, producing and exhibiting art.

Yermekan

Yermekan has been founded in Ankara in May 2022 by three independent artists Zeynep Üçöz, Ekin Kula and Hazel Kılınç. It aims to create unlimited movement space for everyone in a space with defined boundaries, where it aims to collaborate by prioritizing creativity. Acknowledging the fact that the venue can be transformed, reduced, reproduced and of course shared, and not seeing creating art as a separate act from other actions, Yermekan has organized many free and open events and hosted exhibitions as well as the workshops carried out for the sustainability of the space since its first day. The main mission of Yermekan is a search for the problems of movement, thought and production space that are limited by the day.
