Anesthetic Awareness

June 2022 - April 2023
MARDİN

This exhibition project entitled Anesthetic Awareness is about a state of sedation and paralysis. In this sedated state, the individual is aware of the violence, oppression and depression they are facing on both a personal and social level. However, they are in a paralyzing state of lethargy and have no motivation to act. This project aims to rethink and investigate on a relational plane the extent of how art can project a political attitude in a contemporary context. Collaborating artists are expected to develop new contingencies as alternatives to socio-political events, to think about identities, attachments, gender and social, intellectual and environmental destruction, and finally to build a universe of unconventional possibilities  based on ethical responsibility and aesthetic concerns. The project will kick off in
June 2022 and culminate in a comprehensive exhibition in
March-April 2023.
