Çanax

Çanax (satelite dish) is a fictional short film project written and directed by Sevim Kaplan Akan. The shooting of Çanax took place in Mardin between 20 - 27 October 2022 and the film will be completed by December 2022.​

The film is about the story of 65-year old Musa, a pious man who’s anxiously waiting for the result of his application to go and perform Hajj. Musa has completed all preparations and is waiting for his name to come out of the hajj lottery. Even though he’s made his application years ago, people who applied much later all get to go to Hajj. He starts investigating why.

Sevim Kaplan Akan

Sevim Kaplan Akan is a senior student at Mardin Artuklu University’s TV and Cinema department. She continues to study and work in photography as well as documentary films, video art and cinema.
