Cultural Labour Platform Renovation and Technical Infrastructure Project

April - November 2023
Online

The Cultural Labour Platform is an online platform that conducts scientific information and data-based research to improve the working conditions of all workers who contribute to the production of culture and shares the researches in this field. The platform defines cultural workers by dividing them into three groups: (1) workers with artistic professions in the culture industry; for example, an actor working in theatre, (2) non-artistic workers in the cultural industry; for example, a technician working in a museum and (3) labourers working outside the culture industry but with artistic professions; For example, a musician working in a bar.

The goal of the platform is to create science-based content and data on the working conditions of all cultural workers. For this purpose, it undertakes activities aimed at informing the public, especially reporting, statistical data collection and scientific publication activities. It needs a website where the platform can share such content and data in a systematic way, provide regular data production by adapting the survey to all cultural workers, and include the ideas of cultural workers. For this reason, it is necessary to create a website with the necessary technical equipment in order to publish previously obtained content (such as articles and reports), to provide information to cultural workers about the working conditions in their own culture and art fields with short video interviews, and to regularly and systematically provide data for all cultural workers. So, the platform plans to build the infrastructure that will enable it to serve production of data with this project.
