ÇANAKKALE

A summer camp will be organized at the farm, which is the headquarters of Güneşane Foundation, for 10-12 year old children living in Behramkale and Paşaköy. Four workshops will be held at the camp for themes such as life skills, photography, music and theatre. The workshops will be conducted by Boğaziçi Ayvalık School volunteers. At the end of the camp, a children's festival open to local participation will be organized in the square of Behramkale Village. During the festival, an exhibition will be held for the works done during the camp, as well as music and theatre performances.

The aim of this project, which will be the first interaction that Güneşane Foundation will build with the children in the region, is to introduce children to activities outside the limited opportunities of the village and to observe what they need in this process and plan future projects accordingly. The workshops will provide space for them to discover their unique talents and develop them. At Güneşane Farm, which has a self-sufficient and sustainable structure, living in harmony with nature and in a peaceful community is experimented. It is aimed for children to be inspired about ecology and living together in this environment.

Güneşane Foundation

Güneşane Foundation was established to organize summer camps for children with limited access to economic and social opportunities. The headquarters of the foundation is an ecological farm located in Paşaköy, located next to the ancient city of Assos. While agriculture is an activity at the farm, educational activities are also carried out too. In the context of agricultural cultivation, grapes, walnuts, olives and lavender are main grown products. There is an orchard and seasonal kitchen garden to feed the people on the farm. Organic and biodynamic production is carried out without the use of any pesticides, taking into account biodiversity. About education, pedagogues who have adopted the Waldorf approach, volunteer instructors who hold workshops in their fields of expertise, and summer camps including art, sports and agricultural activities have been organized for university students and Darüşşafaka students every year during the summer holidays since 2017. With the support of CultureCIVIC Culture and Arts Support Program, the first step will be taken to make Güneşane a local actor by reaching out to the children in the region where the farm is located.
