My Life is a fictional short film project written and directed by Tahsin Özmen. The shooting of My Life will take place in the Cizre district of Şırnak between 15 - 25 September 2022 and the film will be completed by December 2022.
Synopsis
My Life is a short film project about a woman named Hayat (Life) who lives in a shack in the middle of a fast developing neighbourhood. Her daughter has disappeared years ago, and her husband dies in a fire. The only thing that is left to hold on to for Ms. Hayat is this old house and her hope of finding her daughter.
Tahsin Özmen
Born in 1985 in Cizre, Tahsin Özmen started his cinema career by editing and montage. He took classes on editing and colouring in private post-production studios in Istanbul and Tehran. His first two short films "Yoğurt" (Yogurt) (2015) and "Pantolon" (Pants) (2015) made it to the Cannes Short Film Corner and to more than 50 festivals. He continues to work as an award-winning director-writer of films.
