Woman’s Touch

January - October 2022
MARDİN

The Woman's Touch project focused on site-specific artistic interventions in the "defective" public spaces of Mardin by female artists from various art disciplines and with different experiences. Within the scope of the project, permanent or temporary artistic interventions by women was realised in the problematic public spaces, which are the result of rent-oriented and/or rushed practices of the construction companies. The Woman's Touch project brought art to the public sphere and enabled those living in the city to interact with art. In addition to supporting the production of artworks by women artists living in Mardin, the project problematised the established gender roles socially and historically, thus contributed to the visibility of women artists in Mardin and their presence on art platforms.
